The ECB announced the itinerary for England’s 2012/13 winter tours of India which will include four Tests and two Twenty20s before Christmas and five one-day internationals in the New Year.

Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell both hit centuries as England won a series in India for the first time since 1984-85 - when the present England skipper Alastair Cook was barely a month old. He also became the first man to score a century in each of his first five Tests as England captain during the course of this series.

Jonathan Trott (66 not out) and Ian Bell (24 no) added 67 for the fourth wicket to take England closer to a series victory in Nagpur. Earlier in the morning, the Indian tail added just 29 runs in 13 overs in 62 minutes to get within four runs of England's first innings total, before declaring at 326/9.

A marathon stand of 198 between Dhoni and Kohli helped India fight back against England on day three. However the last session belonged to England as they took 3 wickets. Mahendra Dhoni was run out for 99 and Virat Kohli was lbw for 103 right after the drinks break. India finished the day three on 297/8, 33 runs behind England.

Nagpur Test: Zaheer, Yuvraj dropped

Sachin Tendulkar, 39, kept his spot as India dropped Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh and Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh from their Test squad following the seven-wicket defeat by England in the third Test. Fast bowler Parvinder Awana and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja receive their first Test call-ups, while leg-spinner Piyush Chawla replaces Harbhajan. Ravindra Jadeja hit two triple centuries in the Ranji Trophy and was recently in the news for being the first Indian to hit three triple centuries. Parvinder Awana was among the top three wicket-takers last season and has already got two five-for in the two Ranji Trophy matches this season.

Sachin Tendulkar scored his 66th Test fifty, his first in ten innings, on the first day of the 3rd test but England claimed the honours by reducing a jittery India to 273 for seven. James Anderson took three wickets and Monty Panesar two. For India, Gautam Gambhir made 60 and was involved in the run-out of Virender Sehwag. At stumps Dhoni was on 22 and Zaheer Khan on 0.

Alastair Cook (122) and Kevin Pietersen (186) struck record-equalling 22nd Test centuries after resuming the day on 178 for two. Both men drew level with three all-time great English batsmen - Wally Hammond, Geoff Boycott and Colin Cowdrey.

England's Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen overcame a trial by spin in an unbroken stand of 110 as England reached 178-2 on day two. Cook batted for 251 minutes and faced 209 balls, striking a six and ten fours, while the more aggressive Pietersen was batting on 62 after a stay of 127 minutes during which he faced 85 balls and hit nine fours. A century for either player would be their 22nd in Tests, equalling the England record held by Geoffrey Boycott, Colin Cowdrey and Walter Hammond.Earlier, Cheteshwar Pujara was out - stumped Prior bowled Swann for 135 - for the first time in the series. In between, he scored 382 runs in just under 17 hours, facing 790 balls spread across three innings. India were all out for 327 with Ashwin (68), Harbhajan Singh (21), Zaheer Khan (11) all scoring useful runs towards the end. Swann took four for 70, while Panesar ended up with five for 129.

Cheteshwar Pujara cracked his second consecutive Test century and remained unbeaten on 114 on a turning track at the Wankhede Stadium. Along with Ravichandran Ashwin (60 batting), Pujara took India to a comfortable 266/6 at close after they were reeling at 119/5 at one stage. Earlier, Monty Panesar removed Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar as India took lunch on 87/3 on day one after Dhoni won the toss in Sehwag's 100th test match. Sehwag managed 30, and Sachin Tendulkar - perhaps playing on his home ground at the highest level for the last time - just eight. Panesar, back for his first Test in eight months after a clamour for his inclusion, ended the day with four for 91.

India won the first cricket Test against England by nine wickets at Motera in Ahmedabad on Monday to take the lead in the four-match series. England lost both Alastair Cook (176) and Matt Prior (91), who kept them alive on day four, to Pragyan Ojha in the morning and soon after were bowled out for 406. Ojha finished with 4-120 and the match ended before lunch on the final day. Set 77 to win, India lost Virender Sehwag (25), but Cheteshwar Pujara (41*) and Virat Kohli (11*) took them to victory inside 16 overs.

Skipper Alistair Cook, who has faced 341 balls and struck 20 fours for his 168 - his 21st Test century, was given splendid support by Matt Prior, who was not out on 84 that came off 190 balls. The 141-run partnership between them helped England wipe out the deficit and score 340 for five at the end of play on the fourth day. After lunch, Umesh Yadav trapped Ian Bell lbw on 22 before the right-armer dismissed new batsman Samit Patel with the very next ball. But Prior came in and steadied the ship with Cook as the tourists reached 264-5 at tea before batting out the evening session.Meanwhile, India opener Gautam Gambhir cut short his stay in Ahmedabad to return home and be with his family following his grandmother's death. He is expected to join the team in Ahmedabad for the final day's play.

The first match of the four-Test series against England starts in Ahmedabad Motera on Thursday, with India looking to exact revenge for the humiliation they suffered on their last trip to England. Both teams will be without the services of fast bowlers Ishant Sharma (viral fever) and Steven Finn (thigh strain) in the first test. Both Dhoni and Cook expected the dry surface at the Motera stadium to assist spin, but added its unknown quality would generate considerable interest for the two teams. India have named Yuvraj Singh in their squad for the first two tests against England, marking the all-rounder's return to the five-day game following treatment for cancer. The 30-year-old was included in a 15-man squad for the first two Tests of the four-match series against England which starts on November 15 in Ahmedabad. Yuvraj has played 37 Tests since his international debut in 2000, scoring 1,775 runs at 34.80 with three centuries.The new selection panel headed by Sandeep Patil also included senior off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay in place of S Badrinath, while dropping left-hander Suresh Raina.
